Who was Bruce Johnson Jr? Mother stabs son, 11, to death
Investigators from the Lea County Sheriff’s Office have issued an arrest warrant for Mary Johnson, 49, for fatally stabbing her son Bruce Johnson Jr., 11, in the chest.
Their North Dal Pasco home was the scene of the crime, which Bruce’s father, Bruce Johnson Sr., reported on Sunday. Johnson contacted 911 after discovering his wife and son bleeding from stab wounds.
Mary and Johnson Sr. were getting a divorce, and the former had a history of treating her son violently and abusively. When Johnson Sr. realized this, he made the decision to leave her and made plans to eventually get divorced from her.
They relocated from Oklahoma, where she was repeatedly accused for abusing her kid, to Hobbs. For around 40 days, Bruce was separated from his mother before she finally insisted on seeing him. Before filing for divorce, Johnson went to see them in Oklahoma after agreeing.
Johnson was sound sleeping the night of the horrifying incident until he was startled by his son’s screaming and hurried to another room.
The moment Bruce’s father called 911 and saw him lying on the bed with yet another stab wound, he also saw his wife laying still in another room. At roughly 1:00 am, after receiving the complaint from the sheriff’s deputies, the mother and son pair were transported to Covenant Hobbs Hospital while Bruce was still alive.
Bruce accused his mother of stabbing him at this point, and at 4:19 in the morning, he passed away. The eleven-year-multiple old’s stabbings were confirmed by the autopsy performed in Albuquerque.
